We held our semi-final round of the Montreal showcase on a beautiful Sunday in late June. For those who missed out, Le National is an intimate venue where the sound fills the room. The judging panel and industry representatives of the event looked on from the balcony to oversee the performance and crowd participation. The judges present were Marie-Neige Chatelain from Indica Records and Paul Galatti from Whammo/Universal. The judges were extremely impressed with the caliber of talent coming from the 18 music acts who performed. We even think that there may have been some friendly competition between the judges over who were record deal worthy! We don't want to spoil any surprises but we are super excited about that!
