Saturday June 27th, 2015- Bringing Back that Rhythm and Blues!
Rhythm and blues ( R&B) originally a termed coined by Jerry Wexler, was used to replace the words "race music" which meant African American music. This range from gospel, soul, blues to jazz inspired music. Since the term was used to represent multiple styles of music it is the one genre that up until this day can be interpreted and defined in many ways.
On Saturday, June 27th at Mavericks, Lme wants you to experience a wide range of R&B inspired artists who will be giving you a bit of blues to reggae to even contemporary folk music.
Of course if you are looking for something to dance too, we got you covered with hip hop. From classic hip hop like artist Johnny Brown to a blues inspired hip hop from Diamond. If you are looking for a cool and rising trending fusion of acoustic rock with hip hop by Robbie Heart might be just what you need.
Looking forward to a little hip swaying? R&B artist like Karen Monie will give you an extra soulful performance, while Dee Ghabrial will give you a smooth relaxing irie feel with her soul, reggae and R&B fusion. You can look forward to a bit of R&B jazz by the lovely Nini-Marié while LB gives us a classic mixture of R &B and rap.
Nothing gets you dancing more than Alexandra with some alternative pop and you can sure to be surprised by Non Such who are all about the alternative style.
And of course to set the mood, we have an awesome line-up of contemporary folk artists such as: Valerie Josephine, Indie and Peace Lily. We also have indie folk from Amira's grace and Amanda Lowe. Another cool fusion of music is folk rock and you sure can be expecting to hear some from A Leverage For Mountains. If you are in search of that American rooted folk genre Old Man Grants will be giving you a dose of bluegrass folk music. While Danny Sylvester band will be giving you a taste of some good old country music.
